Eligibility Guidelines
Who is eligible to participate in the Missouri State Parks Youth Corps Program?
Missourians between the ages of 17-21 at the time of application that meet ONE of the following requirements:
- Meets the income guidelines as defined below or;
- Is a member of a family that receives cash payments from an income-based public assistance program (TANF) or;
- Is a member of a household that receives (or has been determined eligible to receive within-in the 6 months prior to application eligible to receive) Food Stamps or;
- Qualifies as a homeless individual or;
- Is a foster child on behalf of whom state or local government payments are made or;
- Is an individual with a disability, whose own income meets the income status defined below.
What are the income guidelines?
Income eligibility is based on the number of people that live in the household and are related by blood, marriage, or adoption. Income* is verified for the past six (6) months and multiplied by two (2) and compared to the annual amount in the chart below. Verification of income will be requested.
The Health and Human Services (HHS) Poverty Guidelines of 2011 are currently in effect:

**For families with more than 8 persons, add $3,820 for each additional person.

*Unemployment Compensation, child support payments received, federal, state and local-based public assistance payments (TANF), and old age & survivors insurance benefits received from Social Security are not included in family income.
